I am remarkably inept when it comes to blogging. I can do two things correctly. I can write like a scalded dog. (Well, maybe not that good–but I think I can.) I can also think logically.
I had only learned about the existence of blogging just before last mid-term elections. I had never heard of social bookmarking.

I was reading Wendy Piersall’s blog, emomsathome.com. She’s got a great post about what she would redo about her life if given the chance. She mainly focuses on two issues in her life.

There are a ton of people out there telling you how to make money online. Although, I’m a true online newbie, I’m not that new in general. (I’m close to half a century old.) Most of these folks are cyber snake oil salesmen (and women).
Zac Johnson apparently is not. That is he’s the real deal.

Children don’t learn the basics is usually what I hear. I would have to add to that school’s (government’s) growing usurpation of the rights of the American family.
What if, however, the main problem with public school lay not with the institution of school itself, but with our own confusion about what we want school to be and provide? Sometimes situations are challenging because we’re not asking the right questions. Change the questions, change the outcome. Let me explain…

I’ve noticed that some of my most popular posts are about education. I’m a public school educator, and I’m not blind to the problems that we have in education. I teach high school mathematics. I’ve done so for nearly ten years. I’ve taught everything from algebra to calculus to computer science. In other words I’ve got a lot of experience watching kids struggle with learning mathematics. I’ve come to the conclusion that there are only two reasons why kids don’t do well with math.

Much to our horror, my wife’s aunt gave our twin children each a radio a couple of years ago for Christmas. We monitor our children’s media consumption very carefully! Let me tell you how strict we are.

Take a look at this new carnival that yours truly is included in. I haven’t had time to read all of the submissions, but the ones I have read were worth the effort. The name of the carnival is the Carnival On Observations On Life.

One of my readers has taken me slightly to task for a remark I made in a recent post about being merely a Christian, as opposed to an ultra-Christian. I’m a fast writer, and I rarely rewrite. (Not necessarily good, I know) I was only dimly aware that I had even made that distinction. So, when I read my reader’s comment, I wondered what in the world I had actually meant. Let me explain.
