Who Won The Georgia Ing Marathon?
Georgia’s first ING marathon went right by my house! As a matter of fact, there’s a cheering section in the school parking lot across the street from me and we’ve been listening to such running favorites as “YMCA” and Gloria Estafan’s “Turn The Beat Around” since about 7:30 am. (It’s now right at noontime.)
I’m not complaining; I’m stoked by the whole thing. I’ve run 10k’s but never a marathon, nor even a half-marathon. I’ve been in shape most of my life, running, martial arts, weight lifting. If I can solve a recurring ankle problem in my left ankle, you can bet what I’m going to be doing this time next year!
Here are some pictures. Enjoy!

I don’t know who the first runner was. I’ll try to find out and add that to this post. The wheelchair racers really inspired me. You wonder what their story is–accident, birth defect? It didn’t stop these folks from living life to the fullest. And how about the middle of the pack, the regular folks like me! 26.2 miles! There’s nothing regular about that! All of these people are heroes, all winners!
