One thing I want to do with this blog is to review books that I read. This might be problematic, however, because I read over such a wide spectrum. Other than the suspense and science fiction that I read, I also read business books, self-help books, history, and books on various aspects of religion.

I recently finished Joe Vitale’s book, The Attraction Factor. The Attraction Factor is the clearest and most practical explanation of The Law of Attraction I’ve ever read. Joe Vitale is neat in that he is a mixture of new age guru and common sense marketing expert.

Joe’s book has a five step process you use to manifest what you want in your life.

The first step is to realize what you do not want. Easy enough.

Step number two is to know what you want. Usually the antithesis of what you don’t want.

Step three involves removing the obstacles to manifesting what you want. For me this is the most problematic step.

I’ll let you read his book to find steps four and five.

I read the book in about three days of spare time. When I got to the end, I immediately put the five step program into action. For unimportant reasons, I wanted to manifest $2,493.23.

Joe’s technique involves a sort of guided meditation. You focus on what you want, what it is going to do for you, and you give this positive energy. You also let go of the outcome. The universe, God, handles the rest.

So, it was Sunday afternoon. I sat on the bed and meditated for twenty minutes, using this technique. When I got finished, I went to the computer to check some eBay listings that were closing.

We were selling an old sales manual for Kirby vacuum cleaners. Before I sat down to mediate, the manual was up to $66.00. When I checked after mediation, I expected it to have gone up some, say to $80.00. Imagine my shock when I saw the sales manual had just closed for $203.00! Wow! What was that? Just luck or the Universe congratulating me for finally having arrived? The thing about prayer and subjective methods like the Law of Attraction is that you can’t prove the results. You just have to apply them and see what happens.

But really! I think this was The Law of Attraction at work!
