I’ve been really stoked by the traffic on this blog! Basically all I know how to do is write. I’ve had to learn the technology from the ground up. But it’s working! So, I’m really excited to announce that I’ve finally been able to make my How To Quit Smoking book available!
Last night before I went to bed, I powered up my My Yahoo! and took a look at the recent posts to the blogs I follow. One post specifically caught my attention–blew my sock off, actually. Let me tell you about it.
I want to continue my conversation about synchronicity. What I mean by synchronicity is that uncanny way the world has of responding to your desires, interests, and deeds.
Georgia’s first ING marathon went right by my house! As a matter of fact, there’s a cheering section in the school parking lot across the street from me and we’ve been listening to such running favorites as “YMCA” and Gloria Estafan’s “Turn The Beat Around” since about 7:30 am. (It’s now right at noontime.)
I actually stole that line. Steve Olson, a blogger, who lives in the upper mid-west, wrote that at the conclusion of an interesting and impassioned post he’s written about how we educate (or fail to educate) our children. Click over to his blog right now and read that post. When you’re done, read a previous post about his own problems in public school.
I read Ilker Yoldas’ The Thinking Blog. I enjoy his posts and learn from him. Today he posted about how to get your blog recognized. He’s actually writing about another blog. What’s so interesting to me is that I got a lot of interesting ideas about promotion from him, but I really disliked the blog he was referencing. Now, I disliked the blog because I can’t stand cursing online. That may be just my own quirk (or maybe my mother actually raised a gentleman!). My dislike of offensive language aside, read the post! It has a lot of good ideas!
One thing I want to do with this blog is to review books that I read. This might be problematic, however, because I read over such a wide spectrum. Other than the suspense and science fiction that I read, I also read business books, self-help books, history, and books on various aspects of religion.
I ran across this at Guy Kawasaki’s blog. This is an article about a book published by psychology professor Carol Dweck. According to the book, Dweck looks into why people fail even though they may have the skills and talents required to succeed.
They say that what distinguishes us from animals is our invention and use of tools. Exactly what is a tool? I suspect you can recognize a tool when you see one, but can you define it?
Productivity501 is a website run by Mark Shead. From his AboutMe page you learn that Mark is a technology consultant. I am reviewing this website because, if my review is picked, Mark will give me an iPod. Since I don’t have an iPod and, although I asked, my wife did not get me one for Christmas, I’m hoping this review will be well received
