What I Learned From Being Away…

I was out of town for three days.

My original goal was to have a post or two ahead lined up for times like this, but, alas, that was not to be quite yet. If you want to know why, read the post that preceded this one.

When I walked in the door (about two hours ago), after unloading the car, of course I headed straight to the computer.

Did I have any more comments? (I knew I did, because I had kept up with my blog from my phone.) How many people have been reading this blog?

Well, no more comments other than the one from Andrew Wee, which as I said I read on my phone. But my traffic! I’m on my way to doubling my traffic! And I really have no idea what I’m doing.

I logged onto my server, Bluehost, and took a look at the stats. What struck me was the breakdown between the number of visits and the number of pages that had been seen.

Usually, the number of pages is about 4/5ths the number of visits. This time, however, the number of pages was about 1/4th the number of visits.

What did this mean?

Well, two things. On the positive side, it meant I have a lot of readers who are curious enough to come back and see what I’ve written next.

On the negative side, it means I disappointed quite a few of those readers. They came to my site, but found nothing, or very little, that interested them.

Mea Culpa!

I’ll try not to do this again!

(Notice, I didn’t say I promised!)

Ciao!
