8 Random Facts About Me
I was tagged by Dee at NetBusinessBlog to write 8 random facts about me.
- I’m ambidextrous. I bat right and left-handed (baseball). I catch only right-handed. I shoot a rifle right and left-handed. I box left-handed. I write right-handed (Say that 20 times!).
- When I was a teen, my Dad took me to see Deep Throat! This was in Key West. By the end of the movie, I knew more about Linda Lovelace than…well, you get the picture. You would think this would have had some negative effect on me, but it didn’t. As far as sex is concerned, I’m the sanest person I know!
- I was an Eagle Scout. (Contrast that with #2!)
- The first type of wine I ever drunk was a Sancerre (only a few months after seeing Deep Throat!). This was in Paris. I thought I had died and gone to heaven!
- When I was 22, I nearly died in an accident in an underground fuel tank at an airport. I was preparing the tank for painting using an extremely toxic chemical. I was wearing a respirator. The electricity was cut, and my respirator quit working. I barely got out alive. That was the one and only time in my life I’ve ever actually cursed someone out.
- I am an avid birdwatcher.
- My favorite place in the world is the Pont des Arts, a footbridge in Paris across the Seine. When I die, it’s in my will to have a portion of my ashes scattered from that bridge.
- I used to eat ants, as a joke. They taste like lemons due to the formic acid in them.
- I was voted Outstanding Junior in the mathematics department at Georgia Institute of Technology by my professors.
- I fell in love with my wife the moment I laid eyes on her. She was working in a bookstore, sitting there at the cash register reading a Glamour magazine. She pretended to ignore me. That was over 25 years ago! We’re still married. (And she’s still pretending to ignore me!
)
